What do you complaining about yes it's snowing and it's the really the first really bad storm cat. In the whole year or it's not been a bad mannered and very mild winter thus far and all the snow will give you something to do today because everybody got today off I don't know anybody who's working except her. There's three of us working today four or George here. For that we've we've got some people are so. Yeah I mean it's it's generally one of those days re hunkered down not a whole lot gets done may be watching movies to go shovel a little bit and called that Netflix. I'll be shovel Netflix and chill. I got my snowblower ready to go I'm that's like Al fund their figure. I'll probably do my first shift on the snow blower from two to three. And then I'll do another shift tonight. Right between 89 then a little bit heavier snow blowers cheating. Yeah mutants in my driveway. No I haven't actually you might have to respect aspect after I settled law that earned a crime I've got a little six by six like square foot thing that I have to deal with. You don't rate hey I want to talk about Cigna. A federal judge blocked the anthem deal they are planning to acquire Cigna. Which would have been a blow. He did to a lot of people in Connecticut that the the deal was kibosh by federal judge which we expect right in the at no point did we actually think this deal through now and this was almost signaled with the the announcement last month that the anthem and Aetna deal was go through either or Humana umps are not at the Humana and deal didn't go through so there's been so much consolidation in insurance in the last 56 years now it used to be you had 8910 different companies out there that we're able to offer plans to Canada and too big for five and in some cases. They don't offer plans in every state and so you don't have the options and that's pretty much what you're seeing that's what they do they nixed the deal race indeed just viewed decreased competition both these mergers. Wouldn't take in too much competition market and I think you can make a case that if someone wanted to bring case on antitrust grounds that there's too much consolidation anyways. I think that's a viable case to be made in the health insurance more. Well right now with what's catching me by surprise and maybe you can explain to me Cigna shares are down to dollar five. And I look through the document. And they are do a break up fee of almost two billion dollars now Cigna is not a big company it's a 37 billion dollar company insist that the company that. Relative to it to the market cap I looked at this and say. OK they're getting a break up fee and we should explain what a breakup fee is that it is basically a payment that will be made by the acquiring company. To the company that was going to be required because the deal didn't go through. Exactly and so that he is going to end up being paid. Two Cigna here just as it's of one point eight billion dollar break of the and this they'd even extended the deadline trying to get this deal done but it just isn't going to happen. Was this stock down on that is well it's possible that break if he still has enough to cover. You know what they thought the potential deal Prescott and what the savings and synergies would have been exactly so. You know obviously this is still a stock when I'm when I'm talking about Cigna here that rally for about 135 in that made 140 range this year and so part of it might be. That hey. Over the last couple weeks. As people kind of got while they maybe this deal is happening they kind of price that break opinions well god. They we talk. Honestly here. Gentlemen you check your party Mary and Tucker year yes getting married in July yes. Secret accounts eagle tally here fields in Tucker I don't know and not a month run up front. Better than you have a joint checking again. So if you wanna make a big purchase burn do you run it by fiance before not to at all. Different ethnic ethnic until I had until she yelled it out and I do what I want. You say you you just day it would it would appear to make a really big perk study doctor usher at Sonia with would you define large purchase. It's been awhile since a male large purchase outing coming up get pretty mean anything over. Five on some like that 500 dollars I would say. I think that's a good benchmark front you would track the word single for a long time married less than two months now. No secrets. We go over everything probably 23 months who's gonna say here's where everything is going on. And generally that will be changed. That they I assure you. That will change over time. No it does for the general idea if so numbers there let me just give you the numbers. One intense survey participants aged 63 to 71 reported having hidden credit card. Or bank account while 3% of the when he did say. Why people keep hidden account you need to it if it keeps the marriage young. He'll infraction does that mean you guys keep things fresh let me just certain things you deal. But I don't want my wife to know that I lost 600 dollars on draft picks so it just. What is not teller. Like I I don't tell battle and I try to hide it. Because that's part of the fun I don't know if she now she's trying to buy something in and I know she's trying to you know she wants what he can. Piano it should play pretty. Throw it out for 600 dollars you and this disease that causes around yeah our own ground piano. You hear tuchman 120000 dollar purchase and I caught her not Omaha I have already cost her a mob. Hiding the funds for. But I Ariza and I don't think. Oh are adamant and I don't know if that's part of what you do and and is what what is the game exactly. It you know you'll look you'll it's it's. You know. You've got to keep it interest in one of the things couples in the stats bear this out I mean I don't I don't vast majority of couples. Are doing what I'm describing in terms of hiding everybody all of all buried couples there's an old exhibit 10% to that's like the exact opposite of everybody. It did that means you're one of the weaker ones on the on normal little time we are conducting a boulder what is the do you hide my idea what is it do you like your spouse about money so yes we're doing our final salute. Anonymous poll fuel website financial exchange dot com yesterday though do you like your spouse about money but yet not telling someone about perched on. All followed now. I see a fail to mention it like if I'm going on a trip or something with a couple my buddies I'm not gonna say hey I expect X number of dollars and I'm gonna spend it out of my money where it's not in our joint will hold out hope you just used the word that does not exit you don't happen. So I've been told you what I didn't know about you in ET new you can't go home and take my money to your spouse. She says to me now then we which she says mine money she means dorm. Well I've heard that I ever use a mind money yet now. I've heard that it of that house or in the end one wonder how you're alert and yet I didn't merry the year I feel like a veteran this when I get it down. Twitter buys Twitter. About this yet. Witter and this is a company that I've been not hugely critical over the last several years Twitter continuing to struggle here they came in at. They missed revenue by about 5% which is bad enough and then they guided their earnings significantly lower. For the next quarter than the market expected as a result. Twitter it just got. Pummeled in early trading this morning down as much 11%. And this is a company book that they grew user's overall for the last year at 4%. They now have about three Charlotte that. It's tiny. It's absolutely time the way the stock is priced stock is priced at twelve point 28 billion dollars in market today so they grew users by 4% would about rampant. They they did grow revenue significantly OK everybody did rise to 740. Million probably 490. Million for team except it's still isn't enough when when you look at what they're able to do it still isn't enough to justify the valuation this company's trading six times sales okay. Six times sales and they can't grow and they're losing money they're losing money in and grown users quickly enough to offset that he can grow revenue all you want them if it doesn't make you. Profitable what's the point. You know point something out did today I would expect to be a fairly low trading volume date simply because New York's wall with snow as his Boston umps are actually at the numbers wrong and that I was talking about their earnings growth via was there. Their revenue growth rose four point 2% to you know. Well let me give you numbers hey if you're holder of Twitter if you have an in your account. So four on average about seventeen million shares trade hands. On on this particular stock thus far today in a low volume today you've had 39 million shares changing. Yeah I mean if stocks down ten point 3% this this is a company. In this wise that you remember whenever I was poking around in the fall you know Yahoo! poker go to wanna buy Twitter Verizon's thing ought to wanna buy Twitter Disney was saying. Why would you buy this company what what value do they offer their trading six times or six times sales nonsense times earnings six times sales. And they are growing revenue at 4% annually that doesn't war. Offshore wind moves into energy's main stream were to be joined by Stanley reed from the New York Times. Hi everybody very Armstrong here from the financial exchange and I'm joined by Jay who who's a senior vice president and leader bank. And leader bank has an exclusive. Program for those of you who are landlord here corrupt collecting rent from 110 and for a 101 tenants. He rant might be something that you want to look into Jake talked to us about zero at how long has it been around. We've been offerings he ran for almost two years now two years and his have been successful spent extremely successful we've. Offered this product to really target our lane borrowers who were still collecting checks in paper form in this day and age. And the purpose of zero needs to really bring everything on line between electronic but more importantly. Have a piece that it and forget it so what's a landlord has their tenants that up. Really there's nothing that needs to be done until the leases over. The ranks is automatically drafted from the Tenet's account can you choose the date of the month is it always the first of the month or could it be if there that's a sign attendant on the fifteenth to to be the fifteenth of every month yup absolutely civilian courts that's the initial date. Whatever day of the month that is. He'll be the same date every month that'll be collected how much does it cost the landlord to set this all so it's absolutely free if the landlord banks with OK so if you're a landlord you have your bank account leader saying you get this is he Bret service roughly -- for free. That's you have a bank account elsewhere will still provide a service for small monthly charge. And if you ever decide to move your bank relationship over waive the fees that. Pretty pretty simple it's pretty cheap and it's a great product are lame or perhaps leave club. Love it all right it's called zero rent and the website for it is www. He raised dot net. Or you can call leader bank at 8776917900. To learn more 8776917900. Collect your rent electronically makes an awful lot of sense to me the phone number again 8776917900. Or visit. Zero rent dot net. Then on top of breaking financial news by becoming a member of the carries brigade mug on the financial exchange does come in sign up today. Offshore wind is becoming a much more a affordable source of electricity creation and we're joined by. Stanley reed from the New York Times to talk to about his recent story on this very topic I Stanley area. I'm good are you. Good so. Well we're glad to light I read your article couple days ago and times and I'm glad you'd take time out to join us. Is has offshore wind become as affordable yet as natural gas electricity. I would say no it yeah yeah. In in Europe where most. Offshore wind is is being done. Built at the moment. There's very little natural gas or. We're earned or any other. Power being built at the moment because because demand is rather let certain. I mean the drive in Europe there's more to have more clean energy don't. And and the government of put in. Big subsidy programs. To do want to encourage. But it. And supported in the last few years. Sort of projected. Cost. Of -- short window of calm down quite especially ordered by about half and and to level that aren't. Too much higher then then what natural gas court's statement. Or perhaps Lou Lou double digit purse. It Stanley would advantages. Does wind power have. Over solar power or other forms of renewable land based energy. What are the big too big advantages or sure when has been in suitable. Places. Which are our countries that have a lot of post war and and and and at the moment you need to. Early show our water going in or out court awareness arm. Hey. It is kind of more out of sight and out of people's way of city instead of Billy enormous projects. I mean this summer song that are being part to better or are always scorers so well. But square moral mom and and and we're and we're for and time would produce field. Urban when they're going well so sort of power or into it nuclear. Plants. Well also the wind at all sure. Compared to aren't sure. Is is some is more. There's more of that so that it probably all of these technologies. They only work when I insurance and pictures of solar or when the wind blows in the interest of wind. Well sure when there's no problem. Getting to be almost worries you get almost twice as much. We it and you know on the location. In an order is as as as land base in Northern Europe solar. Is less attractive because there just isn't that much so and a writer that says Germany's put in a lot of solar and and surprisingly written. So notable. A couple of years ago. Despite you know and its reputation for. And deserved reputation for clarity. But Staley the what I think about either of those technologies. They both would seemingly need battery backups in order to really make it work as. If if it's not windy and if it's not sunny then you've got to fire up that coal plant or fire the natural gas or the new nuclear reactor. That definitely correct and and I am in in Europe you now have. You know depending on the country very substantial amount. Well. Renewable energy and solar and wind on the system. Which which is given priority. In him in most cases so. Okay you probably have to triple and a there on video. BOB regulators over our kind of paying. Gas plants. Intense subjects of coal plants to a because and body to be sure to bring on them. Power and you know at times when them. When them. Unity of the solar and in the windows is in there Graham. And and battery technology is improving government and in need and you know blind of companies send an individual investors who are using batteries to look you know that for the purpose so you know filling in the gaps as well. We think this company Danish oil and natural gas they the leader in wind. How do they are they are all our. The leader in them. In in developing launch. Or sure when that they have a number of major major projects. With one of which or whatever and incidental well. Well Liverpool on. State they are. Yet there bearable Gator in and Denmark itself has some. As has been the leader of torture women and put in the first on. Welcome cultural went by about 25 years ago and and they have two on. At least two major turf foreign companies are important old best system and another woman's arm. Does the smell owned by Siemens. The German company that that the that started out into the work. And Goldman Sachs owns a big chunk of them right. Big big debate date they've came in there are a few years ago and it. And don't doubt that's been controversial but it goes to. The days they hope that. Company. A move move along to where it is now. Very good thank you for your time we appreciate it. Thank you Stanley reed New York Times. The symbol for that company that is behind the the wind is DE and ERG. Trades. Overseas but I'm looking at some of the institutional owners of this fund. I will tell you in Errol your feelings are on wind power. I'm somewhat mixed on it because of the whole issue of how do you store the parents that. But if you look at the money that's investing in dawn is that they call it that it did this the symbol. It is. TE. As an amateur status symbol GE and ERG. Dot CEO. Straight to 260 dollars a share it's up to box today. That wind power does make a lot of sense to me that it comes in again comes back to storing it when you don't have. Yeah and the big thing is the battery technology continues to get better and cheaper to be able to store and I think that's going to be the next major frontier over the next four to five years. That really continues to accelerate the growth of wind power you go back to 1996. After twenty years ago. There were six gig watts of wind power installed which is almost nothing. OK today there's 432. People now okay witnessed worldwide we're talking. The amount of RAMP up you're seeing it's pretty much doubling the install base every four years. And we actually booted. New England used prime territory for wind farms and the coastal areas he offshore areas or it still is more expensive in the US because we have such cheap Nat gas but that cost curve continues to bend as well. We're doing trivia today based on the blizzard of 78. What was the name of the riverboat. Turned cocktail lounge at Anthony's pier four restaurant. That was flooded and partially submerged. During the blizzard of seventy. Our text number is 68680. I've agreed. We're about that I won't give the name of the vote but I have a good family friend of mine. Who actually was supposed to get married in a tent next to that vote that day. And what happened in February of what happened was that that was completely destroyed and everything actually end up having the winning in Anthony's because they had nowhere else to go and if all these wedding pictures with the partially submerged boat behind them and effort and I'm kidding. Now anyway if you know the answer the question are tech's number is 68681. Listener with the correct answer wins a 25 dollar gas card. What was the name of the riverboat turned cocktail lounge. Anthony's pier four restaurant that was. Flooded and partially submerged. During the blizzard of 1978. Dunkin' Donuts they must've done something right because their stock is up 7% today. Yet coming out with a big B on profit here coming in. With 56 point one million dollars in net income 61 doll there's 61 cents per share. And when you exclude some items there at 64 sick quarterly profit which beat estimates by about 5% there. If Duncan is a company that is had some trouble. Expanding and growing their same store sales the way they've wanting to. Over the last couple years here but I on this report. You know you do of the stock rally about 78%. On this news here and really have been trapped in a range kind of between forty and fifty dollars a share for the last year or so appears to be breaking out from that range now. Well and I'm looking at their same store sales. Up looks at one point 9% as an actor yet which missed estimates of about two point 1% solution still having trouble grown those same store sales the way they want to right now. But at least when you look at this quarter in comparison to some of the other ones where they had some larger mrs. I think that's why you're seeing the stock rally this point they still have a tremendous expansion program going on. In particular on the West Coast and in California. And still when you couple that with what you're seeing. Pro same store sales which little disappointing but still moving in the right direction I think that's why you're getting a rally to about whole foods now they're up. But their same store sales were down. And they're closing nine stores which is a company that doesn't close stores they were ramping up you have these are all I looked into this though their old stores in the release all. They are but this is a company that is still struggling to find its footing in an arrow where they have much more competition. Than they originally faced they've step that is margins out of any grocer. Because no one else did what they did and they've had to cut prices they've had introduced lower cost store up. Well offerings. It's been a even really difficult five year period for whole foods you know this was a stock that from. Oh wait coming off the recession all the way through thirteen. Seemed to wanna go nowhere but up. In the last four years now the stock is gone from 63 dollars a share down to 29 so it's been a really tough run for them. They seemed to maybe be squared things away and at least they're admitting hey we knew we need to change some things that are working but it's still is nowhere near the darling that used. My issue with whole foods is price dipped in selection. You can't date in my opinion you can't do your full shop at whole or not gonna go in there and buy your napkins in your paper tough call in your beliefs shouldn't. They eat when you go to a big girl a story like gays in a market basket Stop & Shop Shaw's right. He can't get everything in those places. And the prices still even with what they're doing is still considerably higher whole foods. In the air the other and I find sometimes they just don't have some of the basic stuff that you want you know it's you know he is sometimes you don't want fancy organic ketchup you just want basic Heinz Ketchup is that too much to ask. And in the fact that same store sales are down that. To me is the most important matrix and look yeah I I tried I do a whole foods maybe once or twice a year piney especially item now but other than that. I don't go there and I used to be. Ice to go all the time especially their prepared foods. When I was first data out of the whip off that stopped at 1 o'clock via the you know they have news which is good seafood. And that price as the brought their seafood prices down a little bit yeah but they're still. Pretty high but the quality you're getting a seafood like I'll give Paul whose credit here. You get better seafood at whole foods in you do it shocks you guys that are market pass as the go to my guy in Cambridge Jessica's. I trust him did the stuff is fresh off the vote effort that that would be the weighted. They have talked to you a lot about our friends at the insurer match agency. Speaking of another company we're seeing store sales are really important that would be Panera Bread their stock I'm guessing and looked at by a few minutes I'm guessing it's up. They were up 8% yesterday after they are reported earnings and an air coming out with better than expected earnings beating by about 3% there. Also coming out with a little bit stronger guidance and that's really why they rallied here. On the news of their earnings. Big thing is that they are continuing to price in somewhere around sixteen to 17% earnings growth which for a company of this size and penetration in the restaurant space. Is really good news out of reach. For them to continue growing that way. They miss their store sales are growing at maybe 2%. Yes their their company owned stores are growing at 3% the ones that are franchise about one point 4% in terms of same store sales. So there entire growth model here is continuing. Hey we need to continue adding more stores and so forth. I'm curious to see how they start to move more into the international markets because that's a big untapped resource more than right now Starbucks that. Starbucks did it well panera I think has this week of products and also. What's interesting about panera is they've been one of the companies at the forefront of trying to get preservatives and antibiotics and things out of their foods. Which does make a difference when you're trying to sell to malign meals and I think that that's something they've been able to do very well. You say hey were putting a higher quality content like animals. Jim I was out it really matter for most people bud played all the preservatives and all that stuff that makes you blow up in everything that matters on I don't wanna blow. Now I'm bloat free. 232 a share. For panera big question is can they maintain that pace of growth yep it's it's a company that in the last decade green technology has been very very strong as a company that hasn't gone through many prolonged downturns since the financial crisis they've done things you know very well very consistently. And portable game get in and neither for lunch for how much 1112 bucks a law it's eight or nine. Via the united somewhere in that ball not the beverage. No beverage are probably talking at 1011 something that something like that they just tears sandwich is eight or nine bucks they can get out there that it is it's a sandwich. Are there which will know they do that there's hoops are good that they got good salads. Tucker was that you always raves about the Mac and cheese. Perry they get yeah really get Mac entries definitely. I ran as anything else than it lobster and now. Not just the basics Mac entries and lobster and Alia. Buffalo Mac Hormats Darren Howard Haas and now I've always been a big fan crab Mac and cheese you know he had that often but. And received under appreciated but I think it's it's right up there with the McGraw about. Use it would you there's a couple competitors to grow about which you use so I used to I use to Hitler and door dash and what all three of these companies do. Is they allow restaurants that don't have their own delivery services to outsource it to these guys who pretty much have a bunch of guys drive around in cars and food and go and deliver that food and grow above and they hate to wage rate that we news. You pay you pay food their feet. Yes is the way that the way they make their money is they first charged the restaurant of the how much of a commission to get on the restaurant to you know I don't know I was under call your uncle and ask him. What he would pay in the commission to grow food there was you know when you. The other ones Gord ash I believe it's a flat monthly fee and then a small percentage so I think it's a flat monthly fee you may be like 150 or 200 box folks if you're in the restaurant business would you text us and let us know what the EU's. Four let let's say you you were gonna legal seafood and people ordered that gives you an orderly and seafood through Grupo. Not sure I don't know if you can do legally into he could include places -- like you can do you use it when you buy from food and who do you buy liquid restaurant deeply. There's like an Italian place that I use a lot so like a local place yet these are all yet like Uga Uga have anyone on these things so like there's like a Greek restaurant in Cambridge that's about half an hour just is the way the traffic works soliciting go there I say okay look at rather. Go and use you know ground over something like you pay the senior meal was fifty bucks for you in your life right. Fifty dollars how much of the feed the paid food. Dollar usually it's 56 bucks and then you know the tip of the day carrier of the five bucks or so it's your sixty bucks for dinner. Yeah and that ballpark here is that that that are not on a fifty ya on a fifty dollar meal here and sees the but you know have to drive there you'd have to wait and I were tipped him anyways there in his food derived hot. Yeah I've never had problems cold food or anything but I was going through and this is from a couple years ago I don't know how up to date it is. But this is actually saying that the average commission. That grove hauled gets on its borders is thirteen and a half percent which is steeper than I thought because restaurants typically don't have a huge margin there. So that's a steeper steeper commission and I thought they were going to be I'm sorry how much did you say the commission thirteen and a half percent per were good business that he just think about your business well. For Grupo. There's going to be I'm guessing this all boils down to one survivors and growth of the biggest player in the market grow pubs there adored as provokes the biggest I believe I mean he's only going to be effective. If you invested in five album for them are gonna go bankrupt. Yeah I mean it's it's like that in any industry I think you probably end up with two to three that end up being able to compete on that space I think there's enough room air just an urban areas that game he went with this work he'd use any like this Livan in the suburbs Tucker I don't -- -- just -- right through the restaurant and all you order from the restaurant yeah fight you have to go to Chinese food is something you can edit it up there their own delivery driver now so if I were appalled Gord ash right now as an example just from where we're broadcasting from a see what's available. What I normally go on from home it's usually somewhere in the range of three to 400 restaurants that are available there. If I take a look here. And this is you know obviously a different location. I'm seeing about a war now trying to trying to I have not tried any of that technology up next we'll be joined by Chris verse socked feet. Talking about motivation to create in a state plan here's one how Todd can somebody. Insure. That an ex daughter in law or an ex son in law. Is not going to take half of my child's inheritance when I die in the event that they got a divorce. You know I don't think I sit down at a client meeting. In this doesn't come. Rate duty do you bring it up Purdue the clients bring. I think it's a combination of both but but once you mention if they don't mention that always think about after death well I know and when you mention it. They jump on. One might spell out here here at lower divorce is so prevalent I guess that's the pro and here's the worry right. You guys you both you leave each of your children half a million dollars right. And then three years after you're gone they get a divorce you're gonna lose half of that 500000 dollars on a good. And so what we try to do is inside the trust again another family reason to do is they play a non tax reason to do an estate plan. And and we inside the trust we create its shares for the children and we have that independent trust if you will making one decision only. And that is in their sole discretion to make it distribution to the child. Or to the credential and that sole discretion provides all the creditor protection that they need from the divorced in the future. Fire up the snow blowers I'd suggest to be your first snow blowing and depending on where you live somewhere between 2 and 4 o'clock and then get at it again tonight around eight and but immoral. The notes will be fun 1218 inch is going to be a fun one the editorialists Dow's market the markets are up downloads snowstorm. Dow is up a 102 points the S&P is up eleven. NASDAQ up 26 what's movement that is anything in particular. Yeah a big things that you're seeing moving right now are us Samir riskier sectors energy industrials you two biggest winners thus far financials as well and utilities. Lagging a little bit right now as well as Telecom. Tech also lagging somewhat. But utilities and actually basic materials the only two sectors that are down. For the day right now you know I shared a theory with you regarding copper yesterday. And copper is trading went around to 65 some. Have to pull the and at all it's it's cheap and it's certainly a lot cheaper than it's been in various times during the last ten years. And I referenced. A strike in Argentina that begins today that strike is in fact occurring so you're having copper production. In Argentina in in Chile excuse me in Chile. It has has stopped and that's 5% that one mine in Chile Escondido. Is 5% of the global supply gap but then they've got disruptions. In Peru as well it's not the mine itself but the people will and transport the copper. Yeah exactly and what you've seen is that. This could contribute to a bullish outlook for copper over the next 69 months especially BC additional construction things like that. Start to pick up koppers actually fallen pretty significantly in the last four to five years. Go for about 372. Back in January of 2013 so four years ago. Down at one point. As low as 202 so you'd see almost 50% drop there it is it's rallied back into that 250 to sixty range. But still you know well below where it's been you know the last 56 years just because the demand from places like China that they kept it afloat just isn't there right now. Refuted major supply disruption if you take 7% of the supply route that's gonna move today is just but he I would think that the you know we're not talking about something that people don't know the traders already notice be the guys that are commodity traders they know about the problems in Chile. They know about the problems in Peru. So this is already baked. Well it and the other thing that you have to remember. When you factor this in is copper doesn't move quite the same way that oil does it's not like you of this daily demand for copper necessarily it's based on projects and companies if they say hey operas have gone up they can put projects off it's not like driving to work you can't say. Gas is too expensive I'm not going. You have that demand even you know if you don't want. And he I decided I'm going to apply for a new job talker. Did dwelling on this and I thought this was right at your value and a month the lees is opening up applications. For chocolate. And apparently got a moved the UK though IR. We. Kidding he W across upon somebody who is willing to pay. People each. And what's wrong with that till seven and a half hours weeks and he got plenty of time this could be your side you titles via health insurance of that effect that would average nightly news here's the thing you do have to talk to a panel of well. Okay about that about your experience UK. I know I'm good I know you wouldn't boot usually don't like to talk to people because in eruption was not rile the look at Al talking after I'm done. Yes this is it's it's a real position that you can apply for mom believes as a chocolate Easter. Mon believes dot com folks chocolate for seven and a half hours week but he can do talker. I had no shame I have to cut back the seven you don't an internship. I'm a good ten dollars product. Moved see that happens companies plow ahead with moves to Mexico despite Donald Trump's pressures have lied to Wall Street Journal and there are a lot of companies. Ray explorer forward. General Motors. Caterpillar and the list goes on I mean it's the the they pay attention of the president the change but there's still move and all these jobs to. On here's the thing is at this point it still is more cost competitive to move these facilities. To Mexico right now. And even in a situation let's say that you duo these companies just assuming that trump for that he's not gonna do the terror. What might be that even with the terror but still cheap. Now that that's part of it. The other thing let's say that your company that says look we are going to move our facility back to the US you may do with less jobs OK and more automation Zoe it's. You know that that that's the thing to remembers what you can bring manufacturing back to the US what do you do then Mitt mandate that every factory S 500 employees. Like how forty go on this before you're talking about state control. Over companies the free market decides it it should. The folks at grab your wallet are back at it again grab your wallet of course is a consumer group primarily women. That is calling on consumers to boycott companies with connections to the polarizing. President then on the other hand. You've got trump supporters who have called for consumers to support retailers. Targeted. By grab your wallet when the president himself would grab your wallets suggests that you're grabbing it to spend money rather than to not spend money now and shouldn't be a void your wallet or something like yeah well anyway poorly named group. The reason this story comes up news. Yesterday we talked about Nordstrom's right they have polled in baucus trump. Product line yes the shelf. Not TJ Max didn't hold TJ Max. And marshalls didn't pull the product line but they pulled the promotion. Of the products off the story. Yesterday they pulled from separate racks and instead are putting it in two general merchandise racks and that actually is a move that's consistent with. Potentially low sales of goods because when you look at special. Products actions. Companies pay an awful lot to get that type of promotion and if the bang for the buck isn't there on the separate sections you go into that general merchandise rack is cheaper for you beat it. So that actually the may be trump did this seem not to mind them I don't think about it did it but the keep my TJ Maxx were saying look someone else is offering to pay us more okay do you want to pay up for this base and that market might have said no I don't think so and and ages movers saying well you're going to general Merck and if you if they were trying to make a political statement noted just cancel the whole line. Yeah I mean there's there's still selling the goods is just a different location in the store. Veered deliveries. Call. You know sudden Tucker pays attention beer hilarious right at me but aren't early casualty. Of the storm. So I have bad news for those of you living in Rhode Island. The biggest beer distributor bug Laughlin and Moran of Cranston. Has already canceled Bure deliveries about how long. And minutes are you get through a storm usually I know I was gonna say load of people and rode out there hunkered down and drink some beer you know during the snowstorm. Only drinking beer during a snowstorm some wind I know I I we got we got here Scotch or something like that were skews got you you know I classy of you know because he can't drink beer all day Mel I mean you can but it doesn't end well. Nowhere is you can kind of pace yourself it just looks better if you're just drinking now but when our. You know you sit and they got slippers on and. The thing your robe. I don't know and robe. Going that's January AdWords Gator delivered dear old age that that's that was the lead story for about that was the major news story today in the Providence journal front page of the Providence journal. Beer it is there and here at the kind of thing normally put out a special addition. I woods. I Tesla shares are up there up six dollars and 74 cents all of this. On the rumor that they are going to begin the production of their model three cars on February 20 I looked at the gate right every twentieth. They have their quarterly recent report that their shareholders on forever 22. Yet they they really wanna be able to say hey we're starting production a couple days before. And what this is these are the models that you're actually going to be getting these are tests stock cars that they're going to be producing to start to work at the manufacturing process and make sure that they can ramp up. For their scheduled deliveries they're supposed to begin. Mass producing these vehicles by July of this year. And delivering them to consumers I think September I believe or is that I don't cross over so. You can't have any orders almost 400000 order they've got almost 400000. We got a lot of cancellations. Win mosques supported trump. Yet they got some cancellations there and you know this it's gonna be interest in the seat. How fast they're going to be able to ramp up but then I'm what I'm also curious about is what they eat through that 400000 work yeah okay. Is there another 400000 behind because remember. Tesla wants to be able to sell and buy out of the car they wanna be able to sell 500000 vehicles a year if you look at the best selling cars in America. No okay Toyota coral and you go and take a look at the sales numbers for those vehicles okay. Point is that twenty bestselling cars in America and I got to go to a different. But remember they make other cars other than this model three will still make the guest is doing its small production. Advocates a 100000 year between between all of once you've got to get the 400000 a year on the model three that's where you're trying to get to hear. I just don't know if they can do that because you go through the list he questioned the demand will hook you look at the list of the top. Caught twenty cars in America these cars not trucks because the F 150 pretty that dominates everything but you look at the sales of the top. Cars in America. Honda Accord 345. Outs that's the number one iota camera 388. Honda civic and sixties I'm Reid and their border and those cars are less expensive to cause this model threes gonna run you what forty grand. It's gonna run you probably at a base they say is 35 but it's probably gonna be forty from when these cars cost most of them probably are not cost is 25 to 27 the other problem they have is people want sedans and more than one suvs Armenians who yes I I just. Trying to get to 400000. Sales this a year and tough putt. Hey when we come back we will be joined by Lawrence young from the National Association of Realtors we've got. We have breaking news as it relates to hold prices and inventory levels were joined by Lawrence young from the National Association of Realtors. I'm oratory you'd today. Good morning and think for having me on the show. We're very happy to so. Sure all of us if you would be quarterly pace of sales we just got news on this about an hour ago. Well he's still go activity continued to I increase full best of very good news bad housing market momentum deal in place. These low interest rate environment for most of 2610. Are you this little bit higher now but Lola interest rate and the job creation has virtually. Are provided the momentum. We'll home sells so. Blows essentially 6% mention why it. And tight fit of 90%. Of the metro market across the country is experiencing. Price increase. 90%. OK and what did you see in terms of inventory level levels or existing homes. That are available for sale. That is becoming a mutual can point there is just nodded out almost forced sale in relation and to indeed partners who are in the market. Right now the month supply of inventory which is being industry standards. For measuring how many homes are Eric. It's only three point nine months' supply. Normal should be about six months supply soldier pregnant and inventory is deeply and better food and crisis. And infant mortality do you price increases are just stole sure are well completely LP in people's income growth. Are you presenting affordability challenges as one of the. We've seen more construction new construction. These builders or having little more but if only little. Normal activities should be about one and a half million. Housing unit addition each year new construction of the but the builders have been underdog or more almost ten straight years. Now they're getting close up to one point two million US China of the normal. Fully direction only positive but still in the assurance and the weakening here personally virtualization. Some of the construction loan availability from community bank. That aspirin hamper iron which people are saying that's tight financial regulation has let to that kind of condition are. But how can shortage you're caught in problem liberalizing home values are wanting much faster than people's income. So what do you expect for the spring market in the spring market usually starts. I know say end of February march. So that's springtime and early summer is being received the bulk of home itself activity. We expect but buyers to continue to come out of the market. Even though mortgage rates are slightly higher but nothing alarming. But he he is whether we will have sufficient inventory. The builders were getting your nose on the builders they darker trying to by more locked build more homes. So that will be critical but he have to be a fast game building activity and not only people few months. No existing home sales in the northeast which would include us appear in New England they're up about ten and a half percent in Q4. And six point 4%. Above Q4 fifteen. Is it reasonable to expect that we're gonna have a strong housing here in 2617. Speed we're gonna marry actually has outperformed the country in terms stocks fell activity and the reasoning for that is that. Inventory level appears much more talent is not like critically short applaud it. Perhaps it would exceptional Boston area Boston market felt very tight market price took up running up a little too high in ball started. But the other areas of New England. I've been there appears to be manageable and Kasparov won it in more buyers able to click and make those transaction. So if you the other party it's about people were conditioner and and give them that prices are not wanting very fast in the New England. You provided better applaud Eric for those springbok and he's on fire. Will be you know very comparable in making those offers. Good good Lawrence thank you very much for your time we appreciate it. Warranty on National Association of Realtors and a run through some of the markets because I think the numbers are compelling sure in 2014. The median sales price of an existing single family home for the Boston metropolitan area. 389. In 2014. Now it's 421. In sixty. Yes that's about what 7% higher Bridgeport Connecticut they'll get this one. 397. Has gone down to 373. Osu a little bit more affordable. Prices down in in Bridgeport. Hartford West Hartford East Hartford. 220. Two to 31 up a little about 4%. Up. Many of New Haven. 233. Down to new to nineteen so that's similar to its beat him in a similar fashion and averaged four market. In Connecticut. How many how much do you think the the companies that have moved out of those areas plays into that you think that's having the impact or do you just think it's not enough desire or ability for people out of state and it's a great place to live right now between New Haven and Bridgeport notre you can commute into the city up into New York. It's it's a nice area yeah it's coastal he can buy houses on the water the problem is connect these this these are cases. Where the state government. Has. Become so unfriendly. To businesses to. That you know you read about the GE's. That are leaving it up you don't read about the 200 man machine shop that lead right and you are seeing that Bridgeport used to that whole Aires to be very industrial area. You drive down there now to ghost town. Norwalk and this is another one Norway and New London, Connecticut they seemed to have turned the corner. One ED in 2014209. Now. They've got up and it by almost 30000 dollars. Yes they're moving in the right direction there and obviously. We've chatted a little bit about New London and how that is an area that is seeing a little bit of an influx it's easy jobs and so forth because of electric boat so. You know it it the other thing with new wonder that you do have to consider. Is that it also is with in the distance of being able to commute over to Rhode Island if you wanted to work their living Connecticut's there are things that you can do. On that front. But yeah obviously it is kind of interesting that some of those places in that Bridgeport to New Haven court or where. Look again as you said you could commute into the city if you wanted to you know you're near the water in Connecticut. Just not. Desirable right now for summaries Pittsfield Massachusetts 186 to 193 so very modest growth in its own roster. Yeah I've while western next yeah. Worcester. To 36 down. Production is up modestly to 239 Coca and they have Springfield I do at that Springfield won 93219. Springfield and Worcester making little progress in Providence doing very well Providence to 38 to 64. So this problem Aries the biggest problem areas Connecticut when we come back or be talking about the Internal Revenue Service and we've got for euphoria from our. Sure match dot com studios. I IRS refunds drop potentially delaying consumer spending wire iris re runs drop. All the big reason is that the I arrests prior choose this tax filing season. Made a rule to hold back refund checks that are related to the earned income tax credit as well as the child care tax credit and a big reason for this is that these are two of the most abused. Credits by people who were committing tax fraud how are they doing. How are they doing what the attacks Friday what they're doing basically making up that they had kids and oh yeah it's boat completely fictitious tax returns exactly and so what this does is this gives the iris more time to match up W twos matchup family history and make sure. OK if you have a kid yet we actually know if you have a kid now or pay if you said that you weren't X amount did you actually and that's what they're doing so what happened. Is that actually physically possible to have a negative income tax write a we have these are refundable tax credits so it you can have a negative. A negative income tax rate if you apply these in the right way. And that's what a lot of scammer would do is they'd say hey I'm applying for the earned income tax credit. Apply forget it and then all of a sudden they're gone because they applied under fictitious name or someone else's return. This way. Iris is able to take a little bit more time. Match things up to little more inconvenient for the average fare which is a lot of people do like to get that refund under the pay off Christmas purchases. Or maybe to plan a spring break trip or something like that so takes a little bit more time button but he is. Under the at least you won't have the fraud but it's trying to crack down on that for an end and we know the tax fraud is a huge industry. Well at this point last year it paid out fifty billion dollars in refunds this year thirteen point two billion. Yes so it's it's a drop you almost 70%. Working in and I know a lot of people are saying while my refund while you're gonna have to wait. Another month. To potentially get reaction yet. United Airlines another technology glitch. You know but I'd normally you know a lot of guys travel 5060%. Of the time yup I'm glad I'm not one of those guys. Yeah this is our united second. Issue in about two weeks. This one resulting in delays the 500 flights or about 10% of its daily schedules are smaller scale than than what they had previously. But look that they've had real problems the last couple years with these types of glitches. And it's just because they have so many old legacy systems that are poorly integrated for all of the acquisitions they've made and occasionally that result. And some problems like hey don't forget about leader bank and there is Obama rewards account have a quick question for. How much interest are you earning on your savings account at your bank. But they've at a bank and bank account its citizens are Bank of America are JPMorgan Chase take a look at the statement and excuse what am I getting for interest. The answer is probably not one whole heck of a lot of money. Leader bank will pay you two point 05%. Annual percentage yield on balances up to 50000 dollars. They'll also give you 1% cash back on debit card purchases and there are no ATM fees no matter where usery TM card. By the way you can open these accounts up electronically to you don't have to drive to one of their branches. Toll free 8776917900. Yesterday Donald Trump taking a victory lap. Based on the news that Intel corporation announced they would opening seven billion dollar investment. In Arizona. Yeah and this is not coming on the heels of a meeting between Donald Trump and Intel's CEO Brian. I'm gonna book this cruise and rich bankers and it's pretty good pretty good whenever it better than I loaded up somewhere in that ballpark. And this is supposedly going to result in about 3000 jobs it's gonna be an advanced manufacturing facility. That is set up there. In directly as the as the construction continues to progress should create about 101000 support jobs as well during that time period. And so what you're seeing here is a company that does appear to be altering their policy a little bit based on. What they're expecting from attacks I wonder what I wonder what the attraction to Arizona and it's affordable housing so this to keep mind this plant was already built here and there simply it'd been mothballed a couple of years ago. And what the reason for that is they had said look we just don't have the demand to continue opening this facility but now they are going to finish it so I think part of it. Is just look they'd originally put it there. Just because I think you know. Partly I think beyond. Affordability there from both a tax perspective as well as cost of employment perspective makes sense. But it's also relatively easy. To get goods to either side of the country or export them because you postal like Long Beach important things like that cut in Southern California so I think when when you look at it. Yeah that's that's probably the calculus that was done about where to place. The fans at duke university and the kids at Duke University go wild for basketball tickets. Does your dad had season tickets yes now he disputes elbows on the secondary market if you want to isn't Celanese. He's UV uses them all the years probably ought to maybe two or three games in those two or three games so give to laugh friends and things like that. How hard it is. To get them duke duke basketball I've never had to worry about. It up and a public facilities 969300. Also a topic it's a small place like Boston College yeah it's it's pretty much Boston College with a little it's filled in around the end zones where is BC isn't the same size overall. In terms of the footprint and so forth so it's tough to get seats I mean he's at his for probably 1215 years now I think kids can. Is that student they dual lottery in order to get the kids. And what they've done this year this actually think it's great in order to get tickets to the biggest games rather than simply applying for now lottery they're basing it on a quiz they give before hand about duke basketball so that the knowledgeable fans are the ones that get him that the you have to like sleep in tents and you they're sleeping and attend the sweet talker. That it got not just this week it's about six weeks of ten to. It's really do it for your redeem the notes it's so it's for the North Carolina game yeah. And pretty much there is all for one being at the sleep in a tent for six but he weeks what they're shipped so you have to have generally one person in that tent for that time though I don't know you have to. You read the rule actually might be to get to have ten people Tucker sleeping. But keep in mind these aren't normal tents OK there's electricity that's all around there there is Wi-Fi there you are right next food I mean like it's. Pretty good set up yet you're sitting intends to tenth time in January through college you don't care. I would care I would care you know how warm it was down in Durham yesterday I'd want heat it was 72 I'd wanna shower right now you talk you can't go back to your door we don't have to stay in their 24 hours a day we'll very to set in two people returned from a ten person tent now. You take ships you go to class and just sit in the tenth day take attest to watch the game on TV much war and watch the game on TJ duke North Carolina contestants at the tents now in the past got you got to take a test you gotta sit attendee gets the best basketball game you'll see anywhere I would watch it on TV if. Yeah I'm I I he's not a fan I don't know I firmly Kerr I could idea I'm with you. Ari when we come back we're going to be talking about. It was eight times oversubscribed. And this was the first Mexican IPO actually since Donald Trump. One the president Seton and they ended up raising 791. Million dollars in this offering OK so pretty significant amount they ended up raising here. And really. This is a company that again you know that the most notable product that they made is that Jose quirk go to Q what they've got a host of other products that are a little bit smaller and. And then fuse. The raises another 104. Million dollars now Wellington management. Which is probably one of the more quiet companies up in Boston when you think I mean they're a monster company but you don't hear anything coming out of these don't hear here. It's. And it's very larger big employer. Very big and they are led some of this fundraising round here. Fuse if you're not familiar with a they're based in Cambridge and do a lot with video conferencing technology. Messaging software and things like that. The good at 15100 different corporate customers they've raised about 300 million overall and these since their founding about eleven years ago they got 700 employees who tell us more aid in the big customers they think the average customer spends 400 grain yet you're not talking about small customers this is a deal with mom and pop shops and he's he's fully understand what they do. Not entirely. That's not entirely it's you I know that they're involved. With that video conferencing but I don't fully understand wonder they're gonna go public. You're talking about a mile the amount they've raised their probably within one to two rounds of going public so I would say eighteen to thirty months. And jump in US crude import to reverse in March this according to Goldman Sachs crude is up actually we saw crude earlier this week chuck. I remember talking about crude B and 51 dollars a barrel it's at 5334. And I think what Goldman Sachs is forecasting. Is that basically. OPEC's production cuts are gonna start to kick in the time we it may be April may. Yet I think I think that's part of it as well as you've just got to build in inventories in the US and so the combination of those two. You don't have quite the demand in the US you don't have as much production on the other side from in the international markets in the year you should have a little bit lower import. Not coming in for oil over the next couple months you know two Lou Lou in a B itching to see if that occurs. How quickly. Domestic production when I say domestic include Canada and that sure you know how quickly can. That production come back on line that read that that ever important rig count that you reference. You know connect jump. By another burger another 40% Randall. Yeah it's it's a question in the last year we've gone from about 600 rigs up to about 730 cities in about a 25% ramp up. In that time here who's a high level brings we get about 2000. At the peak during that kind of twelve does the word like 40% 45% word about 35%. Of that number so the question is you know how quickly the ramp up to some more like 900000. Rigs could not gonna go back 2000. Think that that numbers a bit of a misnomer isn't because. Even though our number Riggs is Paula 35%. Our production has drop that much production goalie dropped by about maybe 10%. The peak. It does so that there's 65% a lot of those are small a lot of those real small risks we'll keep in mind that those would. You're always losing production. To wells that are getting. On the trying to. They they've they dry up the production is not constant over the entire life the world gradually tends to taper off and so. Historically what you've seen is in an ideal world you kind of want is balance we've pretty much replacing anything. That's being depleted there right now you're continuing to see a bit of a decline. And I think the big question is how many rigs do you need just to maintain where you are. I I don't know the answer no but we might find out any news that that's the the million dollar question is how quickly. Do we ram pomp ramp up as OPEC starts to cut is really OPEC's cuts didn't start till allegedly until January. In an even then you don't know like how. Definitively they ended up falling to those the other thing to keep in mind is Canada. Canada has increased its production more rapidly they've gone for about 250 rigs up to 350. So they've seen a ball about 40% over the same time here they're desperate. Canada's he'd need production. Oh yeah that it is they they'd built that economy in the last fifteen years on the growth of oil sands and things like that needs to have not seen. The prices to be able the use those same sources close within the last five years with the Canadian dollar was valued. For very short period of time but it was valued higher than the US dollar. And then and that was really based on commodities yeah that was back in it was keep my it was reached his 2013. That was kind of leak case I know that that was kind of win. We knew our net peak oil but we are at it like Europe 1995 and then it was that 141516. Where was just to steady downward march and he. If you got a cross if you juxtapose that with. You know oil price the Canadian dollar it pretty much moved in lockstep now and eve got that production coming back on line in and they want. Canada wants the pump more. Maybe they would pump a lot more general Pryor come back on with more oil before the US. I would say so that the labor yeah boy and also the Canadian dollars cheaper so makes more sense from an exporting perspective. Right now I've got to Dow in the midst of a rally to snowstorm rally the Dow was up 131. Points. Is that there are we in record territory not that we are not quite we are just shy of record territory we got a chance of a huge rally in the way it has this morning you might touch record numbers by the afternoon. Good gold is down three bucks an ounce crude oil gave you the price and that 5334. The NASDAQ. Percentage wise is up about the same as the Dow point 66% to 5719. In the S&P 500. Is up thirteen core percent at 2308. If you're on the road today should be careful I mean it's tough out there you don't wanna have a back suggests.
