U.S. Sen. Scott P. Brown (R-MA) said yesterday it seems utilities were unprepared for the October snowstorm that left more than a half million Massachusetts residents without power. In a sharply-worded letter to the state’s four largest energy providers on Monday, Brown expressed “outrage” over what he claimed was a lack of adequate contingency plans. He said it doesn’t appear utilities had the necessary assets in place to quickly respond to outages caused by the storm. We spoke with Sen. Brown about what can be down to help those left in the dark....
